Silicon oil?

Anyone know of a good place to get silicon oil for my gbb in christchurch, or is it really only available from airsoft stores? I've noticed that my green gas from guncity isn't really doing a good job of lubricating my o-ring and it's completely dried out and gets stuck. Would prefer to go into a store instead of having to wait for shipping and what not. Would like to get it properly lubed up to avoid risk of damage and having to repair parts. Oh and I'm also looking for the liquid type, not the aerosol ones (unless they're better for the gun, but I've read otherwise)

Re: Silicon oil?

I read somewhere that spray cans can damage o-rings? It was a random forums somewhere and a few guys on it commented on aerosol versions being not as good because of the propellant or something they put in it to make it spray out?

EDIT: Also, could I use this spray on other parts of the gun and on AEG as well?

Re: Silicon oil?

I use that spray on my pistol slide - just remove the barrel + hop and haven't had any issues.

I suppose it could dry out the o-rings, not sure. Everyone probably has their own thoughts on this, but at least for pistols, that spray does just fine.

I guess I'll just have to use that for the mean time while I wait for some liquid silicon to get shipped. Thanks :D

Try Acorn Models if you're looking for liquid silicon they should have some.

Best stuff ive found!

I own this exact pack. Have had it for years and it's not looking to run out any time soon.

I actually got a compliment on how smooth the action on my pistol was the other day, all just a good clean and some of this!

Re: Silicon oil?

Ah awesome! Funny that the gas from guncity dried out my o-ring and now I go back to guncity to remedy the problem hahaha.
Will definitely grab some of these tomorrow! Also my package is suppose to arrive tomorrow from ehobbyasia but by the look of things, customs is going to hold on to it for a while. Been stuck at 'Government Agency Hold' on UPS tracker for a while now :/
