Re: New Players welcome every Sunday

Hello, I'm 16 and hardly fit but I was looking into getting into airsoft for the combat enjoyment, I love paintball but have heard better things about airsoft and my parents are sounding willing to fund this operation, I have my own ride to get there, I was wondering if I would be able to come have a play. Also what are your weapon restrictions because my main influence for coming along would be to purchase, possibly tokyo marui, sniper rifle and have seen that you can't have guns above 350fps? And the effective snipers are 450fps+. Maybe you could shed some light on that.

Thanks.
Jack.

hey the fps limit for assault rifles and pistols is 350FPS and max for sniper rifles is 400FPS (dont worry 400fps is good enough, ive been hit plenty of times by snipers and it still hurts , so yes they are still very effective at 400FPS LOL )
As far as i know you need written parents consent to play unless you have your own firearms lisence since you are under 18.
We have a game going this weekend, check out the TAG events section and click on the 18th of sept game and that will tell you about this weekends game (where it is, what time etc) to hire a club gun its $20. also post in that section to tell us if you are going and also if you need a club gun or ask questions about the weekends game etc. hope this helps :D

Rawr covered it pretty well, but I thought I should add that I'm fairly certain that you will be restricted to 400fps for sniper rifles untill you pass a probationary phase of your membership. This basically means you won't be able to go above 400fps untill you have been playing for a while and the TAG committee feels you are responsible enough to use a higher powered gun.

TAG Gun Rules wrote:Single shot - Player must carry a secondary weapon that conforms with the Semi-automatic class rules. This secondary weapon to be used when engaging an opponent inside the 20 meter minimum engagement distance.

Any player whose membership is probationary is restricted to using an airsoft gun that falls below an energy limit of 1.48j (equates to 400 fps with a 0.2gm bb).

Unless you have a firearms license, I don't think you will be able to legally own an airsoft gun. However, I'm sure arrangements can be made.

Other than that, I'm sure you will be welcome to come out to play, as long as the permission slip is completed.

Thank's for all the information will get back to you, probably tonight on wether I'm able to play or not. Also I'm pretty certain you can have a firearm under 800fps without a firearms license. But yeah hopefully will be out playing with you this weekend :)

yes thats true but thats if you are over 18, if you are under 18 you need a firearms lisence (or in this case in terms of airsoft you need parents consent if you dont have a firearms lisence)
i dont really like to bust out with the whole "my dads a policeman so i should know" thing but yea thats what hes said lol

Hello! I just recently moved into Christchurch and Airsoft is my type of a thing. I would like to give it a go in the T.A.G. I will purchase an airsoft weapon in Gun City in some time. So i will need some gear to hire.
Cheers :D

Hey Man

Welcome to the TAG forums.

It's $25 for gear hire. That includes a airsoft gun, ammo and eye-protection.

We always recommend coming out to a game and getting advice from existing members before committing to a first time purchase.

Please refer to this thread if you are interested in playing tomorrow:

$20 for gun hire, safety glasses, hit marker and enough ammo for the day. first 3 or 4 games dont require you to pay field fee. in terms of your age I think you may need to get your parents to sign a form or something? im not sure, hopefully someone else will post here clearing that up
