Re: new to airsoft

Its best for new players to buy SEG's and GBB Pistols at first.

New players are restricted to a lower FPS with Sniper Rifles due to the risk of injuring other players.
You will find the rifle will not be too effective and maybe disappointing for you.

I would recommend you come out and try the Club SEG's and have a few games to get the feel of our sport before buying a Sniper Rifle.

Re: new to airsoft

New members have to serve probationary period before they become Full Members.
Probationary members who wish to use Sniper Weapons are restricted to 400 fps with a 0.2gm bb.
All Snipers must carry a secondary weapon (usually a sidearm)

TAG Rules only allow Bolt Action Rifles to be classed as Sniper Rifles,
The reason for this is because SEG Sniper Rifles fire too quickly, Which could result on everyone buying SEG Sniper Rifles to use all the time in games giving them a higher FPS and more range than other players.

Re: new to airsoft

The TM L96 is only 300fps or there abouts so it should be fine. The main issue with new people starting with spring rifles, is they tend to get disheartened by the fact it is only useful when ambushing a single player at a time, and can only be used within 30-40 metres due to a short engagement range. At least with an electric rifle you can get up front and personal to begin with and work your way to being sneakier, HOWEVER...this is only a recommendation, not a decision. I started with a spring rifle and learned to crawl and hide...but then later discovered I was more suited to being loud and obnoxious in the middle of the field ;)
