Hi, A friend of mine is looking for some advice on pistols, and is wondering if you people can reccommend any particular makes/models for a starter. Also he is wondering what type would be best, a gas or battery ran gun.

GBB is generally considered better. most players have GBB sidearms as they are much superior than electric sidearms. as for brand. i would recommended TM or WE

Don't buy Electric Pistols, They are not as good as Gas Blow Backs.

Tokyo Marui, KWC, KSC, Western Arms, WE, are good quality brands.

I have a WE MEU M1911 gas pistol handles well and fires great its my first pistol. get the armourer too give you some quotes and and more advice

as someone who own a electric (not AA batts) pistols, have to say I'm very happy to own this as it s a great little gun. Its a personal thing like anything as I'm not a fan of gas.

Yes they are good from what I'm told and I will be getting one a some stage.
