New to Airsoft and looking for info.

Hello guys and gals. Im from Hamilton New Zealand and my partner and i are interested in playing airsoft and making it a hobby/sport that we can do together. Im 32 and she is 28 looking for information on what sort of costs are involved with airsoft. I use to play paintball competitively but found it was to expensive for me to do all the time now that we have a family. We were hoping someone could point us in the right direction for a Hamilton club and for a website that are reliable and offer good prices on weapons etc.

Couple of questions; what is better, spring, gas or electric weapons?
Can i get as close as poss to the real thing as in, are there full metal made guns or are they plastic, if plastic are they reliable. Will i have to buy aftermarket parts to make a gun more reliable etc?

Plastic guns are fine as some in real life are plastic but you are able to get full metal if you like prefer

The cost of the sport is (imho) cheapish compared to other sports and really depends how much you want to get into it.

Spring is not a good idea unless you go sniper and then you're better going to gas as it's easier to cock and fire the weapon. Electric is the way to go (imo) for you standard seg
