Good li-ion battery advice

http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/news/2011/02/ask-ars-what-is-the-best-way-to-use-an-li-ion-battery.ars

It's intended as a usage guide for laptop and smartphone batteries, but I'm assuming this applies to Li-Po airsoft batteries as well, as Wikipedia tells me that Li-ion and Li-Po are two names for the same thing.

Ahah, so they are, my mistake.

Lithium-ion: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lithium-ion_battery
Lithium-ion polymer: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lithium-ion_polymer_battery

I am going to assume that the care of both types is very similar as well.

Well the most I can say is that my chemistry teacher could explain exactly what Li-ions were but for Li-po he fully doesnt understand yet.

"This type has technologically evolved from lithium-ion batteries. The primary difference is that the lithium-salt electrolyte is not held in an organic solvent but in a solid polymer composite such as polyethylene oxide or polyacrylonitrile. The advantages of Li-ion polymer over the lithium-ion design include potentially lower cost of manufacture, adaptability to a wide variety of packaging shapes, and ruggedness. Lithium-ion polymer batteries started appearing in consumer electronics around 1996." -Wiki

Re: Good li-ion battery advice

care should be the same... although i do believe lithium-ion cells don't have the same tendency to explode as polymer cells do
