Thoughts on RECCE Rifle for newbie??

Got a mate who wants to get into airsoft and is on the hunt for his first gun.

He was thinking about getting a Tokyo Marui Navy SEALs RECCE Rifle Recoil Shock AEG (Dark Earth)

Any thoughts/downsides etc? He is new so I suggested just an el cheapo just so he has something to use and can get into a few games to make sure he enjoys playing but he wants to get a good quality gun upfront.

No one regrets buying quality.

Only two downsides which aren't really a big deal: no iron sites and proprietary batteries.

It'll be virtually identical to your SOPMOD it terms of function.

Pretty much what reaper said. Nothing wrong with getting a quality gun upfront if you can afford it. And if he decides airsoft isn't for him, he will still have good re-sell value.

hey good choice on the gun I have one of these, the are pretty awesome.
iron sights are that big of a deal can buy flip up iron sights cheap and can get a red dot.
