The internal battle.

Hey guys, as a few of you have seen, I have a G&G m4 that isn't working, after a long think I've decided I'm going to get a new primary. I too have caught the SMG bug and want to go small and light. These are the three I've narrowed it down to, leaning more towards the Vz61 SCORPION then any of them. Has anyone in the club used or seen any of these before?

Re: The internal battle.

SMG's are definitely fun guns to play with, especially at CQB!

However, one very important and likely game breaking feature to keep in mind is the battery. Both the Scorpion and Mac-10 have the following:

7.2v 500mAh Micro Battery

Two problems with that:
  • 7.2 volts is not much to power a gun, especially in semi auto. The cycle speed will be slower, and therefor likely increase your chance to jam the gun if you fire too quickly (Acey knows more about these micro batteries though)
  • 500 mAh is not much juice to play with. I would be surprised if you'd make it through a day before running out.

The G3 on the other hand is a close-quarters machine! I have an old old old G&G one (inferior to the Marui) and Skullking owns a Marui version without the stock. These guns are super easy to chuck a LiPo into, which will give you a faster cycle speed (less jams) and won't run out of power all day (unless you're spamming harder than I sometimes do!)

So as far as what you've linked here, the G3 would by far be my highest recommendation.

Re: The internal battle.

You could get a TM MP7 GBB. Will be much better, and you can't jam them and they'll fire 330 fps instead of 200. Or a TM Hi-Capa with 50 round magazines. Will be better than an MP7 for CQB but not quite as steady for greenfield.
TM MP7 GBBs can be used in the forest, MP7 AEGs would be a bit useless in the forest. Same goes for the MAC-10s and Scorpions. They make good backups though.

But out of the ones you listed I'd definately get the G3, because you can bump the fps up to 330 to compete with AEGs for greenfield and it would be good for CQB.

10 points for chosing Marui too.

He's right. Eda has had one for about that long too and if it can survive his idiotic bungling and abuse that long it must be good.

Still going strong! I often shower with it, and use it to dig up the garden.
