Re: Give Me A Hand! (first gun)

I would avoid APS ive heard nothing but bad things about them, never heard of dytax.

For the sort of budget you've got probably the best option for AR15's is G&P

Although you might be limited to rather low end / standard model you can always customize it at a latter date.

Also for any packages valued at $400 or higher you will have to pay 15% of the value in gst + a $47 admin fee.

Re: Give Me A Hand! (first gun)

General rule: Buy from trusted brands. From what I've gathered, a lot of these guns will need to be tuned/fixed/upgraded/downgraded/broken/fixed/brokenagain/fixedagain before you can even use them. For your budget I could recommend G&P and G&G as they are overall good companies. And since all the ones you linked are M4/SR15 variants, try looking through G&P from a lot of the sites as G&P make primarily M4s. Otherwise I would recommend Tokyo Marui (As would 99.999% of the guys in the club) but they will most definitely be out of your budget.

I myself have a G&P Sentry and the only problems I had with it was caused by me from changing/cutting springs and generally not knowing how to take apart and put together a gearbox properly.

With alot of the DYTAC and random brands I think you will find you need new springs/cut springs to lwoer the FPS a bit but I'm sure someone will help you out with that. (-cough- sort of a self taught expert on G&P Gearboxes by now :P)

Try looking on other sites like:

wgcshop.com
echigoya-guns.com (just to drool over guns that cost an arm and a leg)

EDIT: Also it may be a good idea to go all out on AEG as the only other thing you really need to get started on airsoft is safety goggles/glasses. Building your gear around a good primary is a good start but again, you can do whatever tickles your fancy :P

Re: Give Me A Hand! (first gun)

Hi Chillax

If its out of the these three Id probably go for this one

http://www.wgcshop.com/wgc2008/main/product_detail1.php?tabpage=1&search=special&rs=GG%20AEGs&item=GG-AEG-GR15RXLDSTBP&search_From=category&view=info

Reasons

1) its the cheapest
2) its got EBB
3) EBB prob make it a standout selling point on TM at a later date if you ever looked for anything else

the G&P M4 looks pretty smart mind you,

Can't go wrong with a G&P AR15 variant. You'll wanna change the bevel gear ASAP though. Apart from that, it should be gameable.

Consider:

G&P M4 SOPMOD $292 USD

G&P Sentry $282 USD

Or if you want to be all Navy SEALS operator: MK18 MOD 1 $320USD

Re: Give Me A Hand! (first gun)

G&P M4 Variant
Madbull Hopup Unit (G&P ones are bad and unwind). (30-40 USD ish)
SHS Bevel Gear (2-5 USD ish)

Mags and battery.

That is what you want, if you want an AR15. EBB is cool but they have problems sometimes.

Or buy a Tokyo Marui Next Gen Recoil Shock thing from echigoya-guns.com

Re: Give Me A Hand! (first gun)

It's the gear that prevents your motor spinning your gearbox in reverse. At the end of each trigger pull, the motor slows down, then tries to back up a bit.

The problem with the G&G M4s is that the bevel gear they put in there only has two teeth, which isn't enough. The bevel gear you replace it with has 4-5 teeth.

Re: Give Me A Hand! (first gun)

It's not really a design oversight since they're made to be used primarily in full-auto. But when you're going semi, it's just a bit inefficient trying to make follow up shots when your gears are spinning backwards a wee bit.

Re: Give Me A Hand! (first gun)

Also, G&P internals are pretty much the same through out their range. So with G&P it's more the 'what style of M4 you like' rather than 'how good are the internals'

Re: Give Me A Hand! (first gun)

As PepsiCo said, G&P internals don't differ much, so it's just up to you to get whichever one you think looks more awesome and practical (RIS etc).

Plus don't forget that bevel gear!

Not to knock your suggestions but... why recommend a new player a gun that needs to be almost completely disassembled and modified before it's gameable? Surely there's something decent in that price range that just works out of the box?
