Controlling FPS of gas rifles?

Hi,

Just wanting to pick brains. I'm starting to think about my next rifle now that I no longer have my SCAR. I'm set on a SA80 variant, most likely the L85A2, or maybe the L22A2.

WE do a gas BB version and this appeals to me... Trouble is, it appears to be upwards of 380fps - 400fps on .2's Does anyone have any experience in controlling this in a GBB, what cost is involved and anything else I might want to consider? It's already $200-$300 more than the equivalent AEG version, so I'm not sure how convinced I am anyway, plus it's WE, which puts me off a bit.

Cheers

Re: Controlling FPS of gas rifles?

You need to get a NPAS, RA-Tech make all those bits for WE gas guns (try looking on WGC).
WE seems to very hit and miss, some people say they have no problems and some say they are a mile high stack of turd. Do expect to replace a lot of internals as they wear fast and replacing with decent quality to make it more reliable can get very expensive. Always have an AEG as a back-up.
Also bear in mind that playing in Chirstchurch (SI) there will be a good half the year where the gun will not perform very well at all due to the low temps.

Thanks Dee. Sounds like it'll be a cost prohibitive exercise... I hadn't thought about the temperature issues either. Right, now to raise money for an AEG then. Anyone want to donate? Maybe I should set up a givealittle page :D
