Which camo would people pick for our New Zealand environment and why?

Re: Camo advise

Any woodland camo is ideal for the forest man. I personally prefer US M81 pattern due to its wide availability and use by MARSOC.

Re: Camo advise

DrDee is pretty much invisible most of the time. I don't know what his camo is called because he's pretty invisible most of the time.

But da boys wear FFI M81 woodland from JkArmy.com when they go to events so get that!

Re: Camo advise

As Flazz said, most of us wear m81. Works well enough at our field. I find multicam or British MTP works better in summer when there’s more dry grass.

To be honest I don’t think there’s one camo for NZ. Depends massively on where and what time of year, hence why the militaries of the world invest in so many patterns. Best thing to do is pick a kit you like or can afford or matches your weapon or works on the field you plan to play at most. There’s so many variables.

Re: Camo advise

Need to see them in person in that case and in their intended environment. It's hard to compare on screen.

You could just stick to proven, easily available camo such as m81, flecktarn, various gorka, marpat, dpm, etc. You'll save money too.

Re: Camo advise

Tibettarn/Type03-Plateau is probably the most effective camo in our fields IMHO.
Autumn Partisan is pretty good too.
Then the others mentioned above.

Re: Camo advise

Finally found someone selling genuine issue Type 03 Plateau camo (there are quite a few commercial fakes):
https://www.ebay.com/itm/254209765201?

Way cheaper than buying the SPLAV Gorka 5 for $500, which is the only other source or the pattern (if you want actual military issue stuff).
