Do you need a license to import airsoft guns

Do you need a license to import airsoft guns?Plus what stuff are required to import one?

Not for one or two, if you intend importing any quantity or intend to resell them you will need a dealers license.

You can't import any Electric Airsoft Guns as they are generally fully automatic capable and this makes them illegal in NZ.

Gas and spring powered pistols, rifles and shotguns tend to be ok. What sort of gun are you looking for?

Hi Donn

No license required to import (they don;t check). However the police will require you to be older than 18 or 16 + A cat license.

TAG require the same age/licensing (18 or 16+license), as does pretty much every club in NZ.

Couple of years back we had an underage player with a really nice dad who followed him around un-armed (which is also legally allowed), but TAG doesn't list supervised minors in the new rules so unsure if this is still allowed.
