TM hk416 devgru

Hi all, I have been experiencing some problems either my rifle recently around the accuracy sector I just got a maple leaf tight bore barrel with a 60 bucking. It been great for the past month but today I cleaned it and put it back together giving if a test fire and the rifle was shooting a couple to the far left then a couple where the sight was zeroed for. I thought at first that it was just my error so I dissembled it again and double checked everything with the hopup and barrel and nothing was wrong, I’m now extremely confused and don’t know how to fix this I’m open to any advice or ideas on ways to solve this, thanks

That does sound a bit strange; in my experience maple leaf hop rubbers are a bit average. What bb weight are you using and have you changed weights any time recently?

You could always try chucking the old one back in and seeing it it improves. You could also take the inner barrel out of the gun and looking down the bore to see if there's any noticeable shit stuck in it/give it a clean.

OR you could come out to a game and we have a look at it for you :D

I run .2 I used to use .3 but I found the rifle performed better with the lighter weight, I will might try and different bucking but I plan to come down and play in a few weeks when I’m free but thanks for the advice.

Re: TM hk416 devgru

The original hop rubbers in marui guns are pretty bang-on for 0.2g bbs at the power that they come with stock.

If you've changed to a maple leaf 60 degree and are still using 0.2gs that's probably the problem as they're a lot gripper (for heavier bbs) so you'll likely need the hop turned all the way down to not-overspin a 0.2g bb. The bb will be getting spun by a much smaller surface area which is harder to apply consistently. Generally it is optimal to have the trajectory of your bb about right when the hop is set to over 60% for whatever weight you're using and if you have to go lower; get a less grippy hop rubber.

Source : My observations over the last 15 years :P

So yeah; with Maruis if it's still running the stock power and you want to use 0.2g bbs you should never need to replace the stock hop rubber unless the gun is properly ancient.

Hope this makes sense.

Re: TM hk416 devgru

That genuinely makes a lot of sense thanks will definitely switch the bucking back the original until I upgrade the gearbox and spring so I can run a heavier bb.
