Today was awesome thanks guys
installed the new barrel from Dogsbody tonight, slightly too long will be hacksawing tomorrow :D

Don't hacksaw it, give it to Pete. He knows how to properly shorten a barrel and will do a gpod job too!

Do you mean like spin it on a lathe instead?

I'm not sure how he does it but I have read a hacksaw is bad. It burrs the end. You can hacksaw it if you want and if you don't like it get someone to re-do the end. But burrs in the end of a high precision barrel can be counter productive.

You can hacksaw but just do it carefully and you have to countersink a tapered end into the barrel to clean up any burrs

I use a wisker disc to cut the barrel and a proper internal counter bore set at the correct rake angle to finish. PM me :D :D :D

Hacksaws if not used correctly can crush or deform the tube.
