By the way, does anybody have a 1.5x or 2x magnification red dot sight? I'd quite like to try one before I click the "confirm purchase" button...

Heres my experience for what its worth.

I tried a 2x but found that because you cant 'open' both eyes to look at your target (you get a weird focus thing going on like your drunk) it takes an extra bit of time to focus down the sight and by then its too late.

3-4x magnification is about as far as you want to go, if your intending to snipe.
Holo, iron or 1x magnification if you want to be assaulty as you can aim much quicker in the heat of the moment.

Just adding to this, when looking into what sort of sight I wanted to use, some of the Red Dot sights didn't seem overly ideal at our field unless the brightness of the dot was kept high, draining the battery.

I ended up buying a King Arms Acog 4X scope which I use ultimately for identifying if someone is a bush or not down the treeline. Very useful! But for more accurate shooting in the "heat of the moment" I would always prefer using ironsights.

im selling a red dot scope 1x20 with scope rings if you want to try it out im hopefully coming out next week (11th Dec)

I will be potentially plus 2, may need a club gun on standby if i can't get one of these guns sorted, a spare M4 stock tube battery if anyone has one would help heaps, one of the ones i have here is a bit poked.

also remember to bring all your stuff into the briefing area, we can't keep spreading out into the cars for lunch etc. it makes it very hard to keep track of everyone and get the games running on time.

Yeah, that's kind of the problem with the red dot I currently have, it's simply not bright enough in the summer, even at max brightness. I'd appreciate having a look at your 4x ACOG scope sometime.

Some of us would like to be able to go out to the gate to smoke at lunchtime. We just need to set a definite time limit for lunch, and level some kind of punishment on those who miss or delay the after-lunch briefing. Maybe a 10 meter shot in the neck?
