Glad i found you lot !

Hi all.

Im a brit coming over to christchurch second week in aug and very interested in coming to have a crack with you lot.
Ive played airsoft in the uk for 4 years now and its a cracking sport/dayout.
I know i cant bring my own aeg's over as i have no nz firearms licence (yet),
got ics l85/l86 and a glock23. Going to kill me leaving those here.

So to come along to play for a day do i need to join a club or can you just walk on?
Is there the facility to hire a aeg for the day?
Do you play club v club here?
Sure i will have some other questions for you to answer in the near future

Cheers in advance

Ian

Re: Glad i found you lot !

Hi Ian,
We play on Sunday mornings, yes we have hire weapons (JG G36's)
You can hire one for the day at the cost of $20, BB's are included.

In New Zealand we are only allowed SEG's (Semi Airsoft weapons) as Auto is illegal here.

We occasionally have interclub games, but we mix the players up.

If there is anything else you want to know feel free to ask.
Keep in touch and we look forward to seeing you.

Re: Glad i found you lot !

Cheers for the quick reply.

Seems a good price for the day, do you get many people turn out? Do you have a core member base with extra people paying to play like i will be?

Re SEG's- So is it illegal to use full auto? Do you use single shot at all times?
Sorry for the questions, just trying to get me head round it.
Do you also have a fps limit? or is that different club to club?
We have a legal fps limit here of 330 + 5% so a max of 350.(aeg's)
Think single shot riffles gas or spring is 550 fps with minimum engagement range.

Also dont spose anyone could point me in the right direction where i can get some tatical gear from ?

Cheers again

We have a reasonable sized club with approximately 30 paid up members and a few floating members and visitors.
We sometimes have prospective members attend games to see if Airsoft is a sport for them, We also have a bunch of guys from a new forming club in Timaru (approximately 2 hours drive away) who come up to Christchurch to play the odd game or two.

Yes its illegal to own and use a full auto Airsoft Weapon, (Rifles and Pistols)

Each NZ Airsoft Club has different rules, TAG has a rules similar to yours - SEG's 350 FPS Max (minimum engagement distance 10 meters), Sniper Rifles (Bolt Action Only) 500 FPS (minimum engagement distance 20 meters), both using .20grm BB's
Any player whose membership is probationary is restricted to using an airsoft gun that falls below an energy limit of 1.48j (equates to 400 fps with a 0.2gm bb).

What are you after ? You could try Trade Me - http://www.trademe.co.nz/

Or Kiwi Disposals, they have a shop in Columbo Street Christchurch - http://www.kiwidisposals.co.nz/

Cheers again

TAG has a minimum player age of 16 years old. (It used to be 16 years old with firearms licence, 18 years old without. But I think its just been changed to 16 years old. If I am incorrect someone else will correct me.)

If you have any further questions feel free to ask, :)

All airsoft guns here have to be semied so that full auto selection is still in semi firing mode.
