Sorry to here your bad news.

Is there anything you could do at Polytech to fill the gap and possibly give you more skills ? (until the recession breaks)

Hit my father up if you like, might not be able to help you directly (getting a job as a builder), but he works in the recruitment business... (tell him Darren sent you) ;)

Dude that sucks!!

You should contact your training liaison person in regards to your situation as I know when this happens with a apprentice in the printing trade. (and unfortunately it does happen) they will arrange a transfer to another employer so as you can finish your apprenticeship.

Yeah, hit up the BCITO (Greg Milne) if you have no contacts there.

bah, you've got like 150 years experience with the same company, and you're a shit hot engineer, therefore logic would point to them thinking you're the dogs bollocks, you'll keep your job, or on the bright side, have a 3 day weekend :D ;)

Plus, if all else fails, you can go into business being the only one making sten guns, with the exchange rate selling them to a US market would be great :D
