Aug issues

Righto, i bought an AUG off Daddio recently, there was minimal testing involved (a few dry fires in his garage) as i trust he has good quality gear :)

I got home, put it in the gun safe and didnt touch it for around 4 days, when i finally got time to put the red dot on and sight it in, i got around 6 shots out before the "issues" started.

It got progressively worse, so i will try and go chronologically for you...

At this stage, when you pull the trigger in quick succession, it fails to fire. Sometimes, it fails to fire at all. Sometimes, when you leave it for 5 seconds it might fire again. Sometimes, when the mag is taken out and put back in, it fires. But its definatly not a jam. It almost sounds like it starts to want to, but it cant.

Another day, when i got time to look at it again, i pulled the front reciever off and inspected the stock. The semi job was average to say the least, with a metal plate put in place to only allow the use of the first stage of the two stage trigger. Whilst this obviously worked, it was far from ideal. Once removed, the gun fired fully auto (dry and with BBs) with absolutely no problems with feeding/speed/consistancy. Interestingly enough though, there is no semi...

I took the mechbox out from the stock, removed the contact and put it back in the gun, now it didn't fire at all. Serveral in/out's of the mechbox and it had the same symptoms as last time.

When the mechbox is out on its own, the contact removed and the battery hooked up, it fires semi in much the same fashion as when in the gun, although not in quick succession, 2-3 seconds between shots being needed. Yes, did try different batteries etc.

Whipped the motor off to inspect the pinion gear, gear is worn but not dead.

Not pulling the mechbox apart at this point, although i have a rendezvous with Daddio on Friday morning where im going to show him whats happening. If you have an easy fix, or suggestions, it would all be appreciated ;)

yup.. i know the issue.. fucked trigger. Problem with the chinese stuff. The plastic they use is.. shall we say.. crap

It wears at the back and the metal trigger part can not oull the plastic trigger forward far before it flips over the tip. Had the same issue with another KG AUG. Need to replace at the very least the trigger part that is worn... at most the whole electrical trigger system

so acey, whats the exact part etc? Assuming that is of course what this is? It still dry fires, so therefore, why not with a BB in there?

could be coincidence. Could be pressure from the mag. A bb in there itself is highly unlikely to be causing the issue.

Could even be the contacts. I just picked up my AKMS and it stopped firing. After stripping it down i discovered the right side contact was bent out furhter than it should of been. I just jammed a phillips head screw driver in there for and left it for a while to make sure it was well and truely bent back. Without seeing and trying the weapon myself i can only give you what may be wrong

Well my AUG is identical and was shipped in the same time Mine has never missed a beat touch wood. I am not sure that the problem is with
the trigger. It sounded to be more in the met box. Anyway I suppose its either a process of elimanation or just take it back. :) :)

right, i've just been round to Dave's place and back. We completely stripped the whole gun and mechbox down, then put it back together. Being happy with the excellent result we acheived by unknownly fixing the issue i brought it back home. Now i've just put around 100 rounds through it and its doing it again...
