Trademe Gun Advice

Hey guys. I'm looking at getting my first gun - ideally I'd like something like a HK416, M4, G36K, SCAR, or Steyr AUG, but really just whatever's best value for money. Just been looking on TradeMe, and spotted the following:

[Used] JG HK416 Airsoft Gun (SEG) - http://www.trademe.co.nz/Sports/Hunting-shooting/Air-guns-parts/BB-guns/auction-295495689.htm
[Used] Jin Gong G36K Electric Airsoft Rifle - http://www.trademe.co.nz/Sports/Hunting-shooting/Air-guns-parts/BB-guns/auction-296167990.htm

I'm pretty stoked on the idea of having a G36K with built-in scope, as that was my favourite gun in Rainbow Six 3. Has anyone tried the scope before? Are they any good, and do they fog up much?
I also like the HK416, as the real thing is basically an improved M4 which is another personal favourite. However I'm unsure how good it would be for Airsoft, as the short length might reduce its accuracy? Also it doesn't have the M4's front grip, which is something I'd ideally like.

Keen for a second opinion before I bid if possible. What do you guys reckon?

Re: Trademe Gun Advice

They both seem ok, reasonably priced.

The only thing is you take the risk when buying secondhand weapons from people you Don't know them.

Could be a lemon ?

That's just my opinion.

Ok cheers. At this point I'm tending towards the G36. Further thought: any idea how much it would cost to buy a foregrip attachment?

Re: Trademe Gun Advice

I'm aiming for less than $300 if poss. Not too concerned about second-hand at this point, as it may not have to last me for ages - I'm thinking about heading over to Europe in about a year so I'm just looking for something that'll be cheaper and easier than renting club guns. After that if I'm still hooked and still wanna play when I come back from Europe then I might buy something newer and fancier.

What brand are the club guns?

Re: Trademe Gun Advice

lol stop spreading the M4 sickness ZA1.

Personally i agree with spawn in terms of buying new. But if you are going to get second hand there are some good brands. My AK74 is CYMA and it shoots lovely and the fps is good on it to. It sits around 345fps.

Without to much hands on experiance with the G36's it looks like a nice stable platform or beginner gun :)

P.S get an AK ;)

Re: Trademe Gun Advice

ok thanks for the advice all, and cheers for the foregrip offer ZA1! :)
I am still leaning towards the G36 as it is a sweet gun at a sweet price - or at least it was, the #%$*&@ guy has raised the price to $999, WTF. If he lowers it back to $250 it'd be my first choice. That M4 doesn't look too bad, though.

Yea I know what you mean about the price adjustment, Fark you wouldn't even pay anything near that price for two New JG G36's.

Must be a serious mistake.

Re: Trademe Gun Advice

Yeah I suspect he's probably sold it offline to someone and has just raised the price so no one bids on it, which would place him in an awkward situation. Lame.

Hey how does that M4 posted above (the $345 one) compare to this one (priced at $275): http://www.trademe.co.nz/Sports/Hunting-shooting/Air-guns-parts/BB-guns/auction-295898963.htm

Re: Trademe Gun Advice

Ok cool, thanks slayer. I don't really need the glasses but I will need battery, charger etc so it looks like the combo is a better deal. Just been looking on the Armoury's website and it looks like they've got pretty much the same thing listed there but for $10 cheaper: http://www.armory.co.nz/cat_36/tov_42.html

Will I also need a low cap magazine? If so, is this the best option: http://www.armory.co.nz/cat_49/tov_231.html
And if I get another mag, I guess I'll need something to carry it in: http://www.armory.co.nz/cat_61/tov_187.html
(And am also considering picking up some proper knee pads - maybe: http://www.armory.co.nz/cat_59/tov_179.html)

This is starting to get expensive...
