Camo.

Question - What camo are you using?

Guys new question here that I haven't heard to much about. What camo are you using? As for the snipers out there where did you get your ghillies and how much! They looked really good on the Close Up story on youtube.

Any information would be great,

most lads are now using Marpats, i think the ghille in the vid is the one i picked up off a old player. He made his own from a kitset i think and I use Auscam for my standard kit

Most of us have a variety of uniforms. I prefer US Marpats as I think they blend in nicely with gorse/tress, and suits my M16 rifle. The marpats also have pouches for built-in knee pads - which are great!

I also have a NZ army uniform and ghillie suit. I also have an authentic OZ cam jungle hat - but thats another story. 8)

Can I ask where you got yours from? I cannot seem to find anywhere here (in NZ) that has any, or I just haven't looked hard enough. If so, can someone put me forward to a website or give me a link or 2 with the gear that will work well. I don't mind the price, I just need some photos to help me in my search.

Cheers,
Omega.

USMC Marpat c/- another member here who's source of marpat has since dried up.
NZ Army - 1 set Kiiw Disposals
Ghillie - US website (took few nights to make)
OZ cam hat - c/- Enoggera Barracks mess

I can probably get hold of fulls sets of real OZ cam and British DPM's if required, guys I know have complete collections just hanging in cupboards.

Locally Kiwi Disposals has the best range.

Real MARPAT gear is very hard to source, imitation stuff is easier.

Tradme occasionaly has something interesting pop up but mostly its repro stuff of varying quality.

Would something like this be acceptable?

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Sports/Hunting ... 657375.htm

I understand it doesn't come with a hydration pack, but they are cheapish, around 50 bucks.

Seems like good value for the amount of stuff you get, I suspect that this is because the quality is pretty low. Some of the cheap multicam goes almost white after a few washes, just ask Mouse :D

Advice on this sort of gear is WAIT. Get some cheap camo gear (jacket and trousers) from somewhere like Kiwi Disposals but don't buy vests etc until you have seen what is about and worked out the style of game you like playing.

Almost all new players rush off and buy gear that they later regret.

Cheers Nematode, I will be waiting but just thought I would get my head in the door for looking for gear later on after getting my primary and sidearm.

Cheers,

Omega.
