Newbie

Hey guys, I'm looking at getting into airsoft and you seem to be the guys to play with in Canterbury.
However I'm finding it difficult to find a good AEG that is semi and would get through customs.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can purchase a gun?

Re: Newbie

Hey Poppet

I would recommend coming out for a game with us before you go out and spend any money. You can hire out club gear for $20 which includes a gun, ammo for the day and eye protection. You will be able to check out the gun we run around with and will get a feel for our club and the sport.

The main airsoft retailers (ehobby, wgc, echigoya) offer a service that will semi your gun. This should allow it to get through customs without any trouble.

Ah excellent thanks Sneakers, I had already fired off an email asking WGC about it.
Should have a King Arms by next week then :)

The rest of the gear I have lying round, DPM, vest, goggles etc as well as some worse for wear WE hicapa's that kinda wore out and I stopped playing.

Just going over the rules etc and had a couple questions,
You play every Sunday?
Not sure about mag restriction as to winders etc... can I use these? Magazines
I am a smoker, I cannot smoke at all at the field or just nowhere near people filling bottles?
What is an average turnout for a game?

Thanks in advance :D

yep usually every sunday unless the weather is crap

hi cap mags are allowed as they are used in our club guns though using mid or low cap mags is probably preferred (im not quite sure maybe someone else will clarify this for you)

you can smoke but you have to do it out by the road and at lunchtime as far as i know

Re: Newbie

Hi man welcome to TAG

Yep we play every Sunday. The gate is open between 8:45am-9.00am. We usually finish around 2pm
If you want to play a game, register on the TAG Events page for the game by saying you're in.
Also, for your first few games of airsoft, I'd recommend hiring a gun for $20 for the day, and have a yarn with the
guys about their guns, ask to have a hold of them (they wont mind), and ask lots of questions! You'll soon find something that you KNOW that you'll want to use for years to come in the games.

At TAG, we use low cap magazines (under 100rnd magazines are acceptable).
Although, for the first few games its usually okay for the new guys to use their high caps until they get hold of some low cap mags.

At the field, smoking isn't allowed. During lunch, some guys head out of the field and have a quick smoke by the road.
Average turnout recently seems to be between 14-25, which is (I reckon) ideal for many skirmishes we run.

Any questions, don't hesitate to ask! Looking forward to see ya at the field someday!

Re: Newbie

Might be best to mention now, that to play at TAG you need to be 18, or 16 with this permission slip filled out:
