Re: Decisions Decisions

Greycat has a FN G2010, From what I have seen it's been rather accurate and reliable.

Personally it's not my cup of tea.........too bulky looking and too futuristic looking.

Re: Decisions Decisions

FN2000 is cool. Get one and be cool.

Edit: Find out if they're compatible with other things though, like their internal parts like hop units and things. Gearbox parts will definately be compatible. I think they may only take a certain type of magazine though.

Re: Decisions Decisions

If I was going for pratical use I'd go with the Ak... If I was going for looks/cool factor itd be the f2000... But since both are currently out of stock, I think I have a while to decide, but I do like the Ak with rails...

Re: Decisions Decisions

Looks like a normal AK102 with UltiMAK rails and a Bulgarian "Krinkov" flash hider.

They are supposed to be pretty accurate, what have you heard about them Dee?

Its not anything quite that fancy, it is polymer handguards with rails not full metal like UltiMAK or krebs (pretty sure these were made for the Saiga market in the US, but I have seen some show up on Russian 74's in the hands of Alpha and the like who get into the whole tacticool, they usually use them just for a foregrip although all the photos show them mag-gripping even with the foregrip installed lol).

A couple of noticeable failings that make this a 'fantasy' gun (not the end of the world as most companies don't get it right).
1. All Ak-100 series (even the late 74's for that matter) should have the smooth top receiver cover.
2. 100 series don't have skeleton stock. It should either be fixed ploymer or folding polymer.

In saying that, with the Saiga flash-hider/noise-enhancer/penis-enlarger on the front it is obviously trying to represent a 'custom' AK/Saiga like the Yanks build, so its all OK I guess. Definitely not Russian.

Re: Decisions Decisions

Indeed, just another "PMC" AK.

Though, that's the look Siphon was going for in the first place with the King Arms AK.

The main sell point for the king arms AK for me was the folding stock, then the amount and positioning of the rails. Apparently the reviews of it are quite good also.

Re: Decisions Decisions

Personally I wouldn't get a King Arms gun, they are a bit hit as miss with their internals. At least for version two gearboxes anyway. If you can find something in CYMA that suits your liking and then play around with the externals you'd likely have a better time. Just make sure to get a M100 spring along with whatever gun you buy as those hong kong sites aren't to be trusted with their FPS ratings.

Re: Decisions Decisions

Agree, CYMA is best bang for buck for an AK. Just get a stock AK and add the bits you want, all pretty cheap.

LCT are considered the best AK's on the market and they use CYMA internals, they just have the best externals. CYMA externals are accurate but cheaply made (pot-metal where LCT uses steel). I have had numerous CYMA AK's and they have all done the job nicely.

CYMA AIMS PMC:
http://hobbyeshop.com/eshop/product_inf ... ucts_id=77
Be around US$240 shipped (free semi-mod).

Or if you like the 100 series look:
http://hobbyeshop.com/eshop/product_inf ... cts_id=443
Be around US$210 shipped (free semi-mod)

add a full metal rail system:
http://www.dealextreme.com/p/fishbone-s ... 96?item=56
US$26 with free shipping.

I get all my guns from hobbyeshop, the gripe that people have is they don't answer emails about shipping costs. The trick is you put and order through for a gun and it stops you from paying for it until shipping price is confirmed, they usually get back in 24-48 hours with shipping costs and you decide to go ahead or not.

Its a version 3 gearbox but I get what you mean, since the M4 seems to have called it quits. Ill be needing a new gun at some point, so many choices though but would like an AK at the end of the day.

Update: Didnt know Hobby E shop had the X47
