CQB is always sub-300fps so you are generally pretty safe. You typically wouldn't be less than 5-8m from a target

Never been a fan of CQB myself, hence have never bothered trying to find a place to do it. The last one I played I ended up with my gun shut in a door, a mag dropped out of the gun & smashed on the concrete floor. People where blind firing through holes in the wall 2cm from my head. I slipped on someones BB's they had emptied around a door to inhibit access. Ricochettes where so prolific you never knew if you where being actually shot or had just copped a face full of your team mats BB's coming back at you.

Small squad action I am sure would be a different kettle fo fish... but I think it is a sport for experienced sensible players with bloody clear guidelines & rules.

A case of fun in theory, nightmare in practice in my experience.

very true chris.. you need to impose strict rules around things to ensure peoples safety. Anyone caught blind firing or endangering others safety need to be asked to leave the game or for repeated offences leave altogether. .. no exceptions.

You also need to impose things like lowcap mags and ammo limits. I HATE CQB that just turns in to a spam fest like we had in nelson.. it's just no fun at all.

I spoke to EasyGoer about the CQB team event they were havbing but he doesn't want to impose lowcap mags now ammo limits so it'll degenerate into a spamfest pretty quickly.

CQB needs to involve some level of role play as well.. we had some good games in nelson where bad guys had taken the place and teams had to come in and rescue hostages... deepeyes got shot in the leg and instead of just saying hit he fell down and crawled away screaming that he'd been hit and shooting his pistol... it was great and everyone loved it

oooo a non spamming, low capping, ammo restricting CQB sounds fun, if people play as if they really would die when they get shot anyways. Keeps everyone careful with their trigger finger, a full face mask i would think should be a good idea for everyone to wear, because even if we are going sub 300 or sticking to pistols only, at that range a face shot would undoubtedly bring on some bloodcurling shrieks. one hit rubber chicken kills :P plastic knives can still hurt someone if not used carefully :P

Possible venue.... I don't know who owns it or if its structurally safe but the Tattersfield building by Radley street in Woolston would be quite cool.
Its a big abandoned bed manufacturing plant that is visible just off Ferry road.

I tried for that couple years back, said it was being redevloped soon.

Has only deteriorated since.

Large warehouse out back, 2 story office to side with nice open stairwell.
all windows now bordered up - so nosey parkers won't be alarmed.

The old property manager now works for one of our good customers so could try to get us in there, but I need to clear my plate here at work first.

Could I suggest...

Low caps
smoke machine
stobe lights
rotating beacons
Stereo so we can play claxon's (or Mother from Alien saying self destruct in 3 minutes..."

Oh yeah baby... :D :D

back to work.
