Re: Battery Chargers

Looks like the main difference between all those units is the power supply, some do AC and DC and some just one or the other.

The thing that I would be a little concerned about is that the balance charger plugs are built in which would limit you to only one type of balance plugs. 90% of the bats out there seem to use only one type so this shouldn't be a big issue though.

Re: Battery Chargers

I know its not in your options but my charger which does NIMH/NICAD and Lipo with a buit in balancer does great and would recommend it. I have a TLP XB-16 which I bought from Redwolf for about 75 USD. It comes with a UK plug end but a plug converter from dick smiths is all you need to get it going. When you are charging lipos it tells you what the voltage of each cell is so you know when any of the cells are getting near the limits. Acey has the previous model and had some issue with the power of the charger but other than that I think it has been fine for him.

Edit: My charger has an auto cut off for all types of batteries and beeps loudly when its done

Re: Battery Chargers

Na you don't need a plug converter, I just brought a whole new power lead from DSE, Its the same as the power lead you would use on a computer disk drive unit.

One of us can charge it for you initially, when you see the new batteries we use these days I'm sure you'll be wanting to ditch that one anyway :D
