New & Wanting to Play

Hi all,

I'm relatively new to Airsoft games which I have only played it a few times few years ago with a friend "Caspar" who took me into this sport (which I'm not sure what club it was and this friend has left Christchurch for good).
I absolutely enjoyed the experience and is very keen to join again.
I have sold all my gears away years ago, so I have no gears at all at the moment, Which if any one has any gear for sale, I'd be interesting!
I have just ordered a TM gas pistol from WGC in HK my self and still waiting for shipping.
And I am looking for an AEG (Semi of cos! due to the NZ law), tactical gears such as vest/cloths etc... locally.
It would be much appreciate that some one in this club can offer help on getting gears I'm looking for.
And also wanting to know if we have a club Armourer here to help on buying AEG/GBB from over-seas and maintenance (I have experience on GBB but a total rookie on AEG which I don't even really know how to correctly maintain them).

At the end, how do I really join this club? is there any fees I need to pay? a phone call or contact I should make? how do I contact with you guys to join the next event?

Sorry for so many question here at once & Thank You All Very Much for the helps!
Regards, Stanley.

Re: New & Wanting to Play

Hey Stanley

If you want to come out and see what TAG is all about, you're welcome to come to one of our games. We play every Sunday and we have club guns available for hire for $20. You get your first four games for free, after that if you still want to play you can apply for membership, which will cost $75 for a half year.

If you want to come to our next game, look in the TAG Events section for the game thread for next week. Post in there that you're wanting to come out and if you need to hire a club gun, mention that too.

As for gear, there are various piece of second hand kit available on ASNZ, but you won't have access to that untill you are a member. If you like, I can send you some info on where you can buy new kit.

I don't believe we have a club armourer, but you don't need one to import any weapon from overseas. You can do it yourself without problems, just as long as you make sure the weapon has been converted to semi only before it is shipped. You will likely have to pay GST on and overseas purchase over $400 (although they can charge GST on anything, $400 is the rough guideline). As for maintenance advice, the majority of us have AEGs, so if you have any questions just ask and there should be someone who can help.

Hope to see you out on the field soon!

As for maintenance, you won't really need to maintain your AEG much aside from cleaning the barrel out every month. A good way to do that is to take the barrel out and take the hop rubber off (if you know how to put it back on properly) and then clean it so you won't be getting silicone on your gear.

Most people's guns shit out before they really need to maintain them so you can the mechbox re-greased by whoevers fixing it. However if you don't buy a cheapo gun you just need to open it up every 6 months and make sure the O-rings are ok, the piston and gears have all their teeth and that it has some grease on the gears.

Its that simple!

Re: New & Wanting to Play

Hi all,
Thanks so much for all the replies :)
I'm planning to show up on the next event, but I don't think I'll be playing as I have no proper cloths & gear yet.
For AEG I'm currently looking at the Bolt's B4A1 or Tokyo Marui AEG (if I can find one at all).
Other brands I'm also interesting are ARES / G&P.

Thank You All Very Much Again & Regards, SC.

For $20 you can hire a club gun, eye protection and ammo for the day. As long as you have clothes you don't mind getting a little dirty you can play.

Re: New & Wanting to Play

Theres Marui EBB series guns with free-semi and free-shipping here

http://echigoya-guns.com/guns/index.php ... ry&path=62

I'd probably get one of them over a Bolt B4A1. A few of us have the Scars and they're pretty good.
