Newbie Gun

Hi Guys,

I am looking at getting a G36C as a CQB gun and for use on Greenfield until I decide on what I will have as my main gun for Greenfield. I like the look of the Umarex G36C Competition Version, does anyone know anything about it? I think the actual manufacturer might be Ares, I'm not sure.
Would it be a good first gun and CQB gun? Or would I be having to spend a lot of money on it?

For a Pistol I am wanting an M9A1, and have found a Socom Gear and a TM. I have heard TM is one of the best brands out there, however it is 50 fps lower than the Socom Gear M9A1, how much of a difference would that make with a Pistol?

Also, how many Mags should I have with each? Looking at King Arms 95rd G36 5 pack and most likely go with the brand of the Pistol I get.

Any comments/criticisms welcome. Thanks in advance :)

Re: Newbie Gun

Get the TM over the Socom gear. The TM will just be much, much better and the socom will last about 2 months. As for the pistol, you might want 2 spare mags so you could main it at CQB.

Honestly if you had about 4 magazines total, you could main it at CQB and get the same, if not better results than a SEG. There's no full-auto or excessive recoil so most of the real-word advantages of a CQB length assault rifle just aren't there. It's probably a bold move to main a pistol, but it's something to think about.

But yeah to awnser your question, the Umarex shouldn't have any problems. Jing Gong G36s are indestructible and are pretty damn good too.

But srsly, don't get a Socom Gear pistol over a Marui if they make the same one.

Re: Newbie Gun

Thanks Flazz, I will get the TM one and have a think about how many mags I will get.
I'm mainly looking for a cheapish G36C that will end up being my 2nd/back-up gun that I won't have to spend a lot of money on.

If thats the case, get a JG one. It'll need to be down-springed but thats about it.

Edit : I think I might be coming across like a dick. What I'm meaning to say is that they're both great guns, but if you just want a cheap and reliable secondary (which is always a good move) then I recommend the JG :)
