Sidearm - What is best.

Hey guys, just getting some more info on everything - again.

Just wondering your opinion on sidearms now, say an upgraded TM M1911A1 with metal kit and heaps of upgrades (over $400 NZD without the gun) for $300, was going to get it but somebody else got in first.

I'm thinking of Tokyo Marui but am open to many different suggestions.

Personally I was thinking of the TM M92F Tactical Master, from there progress and get some upgrades after a while.

What's your opinion?

Cheers,
Omega.

If you are after a sidearm there are many options out there.

TM's are always good guns. The 1911 isnt a good beginning gun however because it has a small gas capacity. The Tactical Master is a good gun, nice comfortable grips and has a decent amount of ammo. So it generally just comes down to what gun you feel comfortable with.

I own a TM Tactical Master and have for a number of years.

They are good quality pistols and are basically the same as the M92F Beretta with different grips and Tactical Master engraved into the slide.

Personally I would go for the Tokyo Mauri Sig Sauer P226. (Gas Blow Back)
I also have one of these which I personally think is a much nicer pistol.

You should check out some of the different types our club members have / own.

I also own a TM Socom MK23 (Non Blow Back) Pistol which is also a great weapon, The silencer works well in muffling the sound of it firing.

I have also been thinking of buying a TM Glock 17 sometime in the future.

If you want a Glock, KSC make the largest range and best quality ones available. KSC try to get the operation of their guns (including weight) as close to the real steel as possible, and have been making Glocks for many years now.

If you want the best, low maintenance, easy to use, low power good for closeup low cost gun, you can get a Semi'd Cyma Glock18C. I have one and it's awesome. Only $38US and exceptionally well made for the price. It's electric so you just charge the battery and go. It's great for winter because there is no variance due to gas cooling, has good magazine capacity, the mags are small so you can carry 3 of them for one standard GBB mag, and most of all they are EXCEPTIONALLY low maintenance.

Talk to our Armourer about getting one

i'm loving my sig to bits :) from what i've had the pleasure of firing though, i'd say the glock 17's probably the most accurate one i've fired. i do like the snappy blowback of the hi capa as well, very enjoyable to fire

well here's a list of guns i've owned and fired over the last few years

Western Arms Beretta M84FS
Western Arms Beretta M92 Tactical
KJW Para Ordinance 14.45
KJW USP Tactical
WE HiCapa (with CO2)
Marui SigP226
KSC Glock34
KSC USP Compact
KSC USP 45
KSC Mk23
KSC SigPro SP2009
Maruzen P99
Marushin Bren Ten

And without a single doubt the 2 of the GBBs that come out on top are the KSC USP Compact and the Maruzen P99. It would be the Maruzen P99 by a long shot but it has issues with Propane/Greengas, with one little part in the gun that keeps bending. However the P99 is the most comfortable, most consistant, best blowback and most durable slide of any pistol i've used.

Just biffing this in there, what about the M92F Military Model. I've been told it is the same as the Tactial Master, with the obvious difference in grips and hammer. Is this something to look at?

I love the look of it in comparison to the SIG. (I find it looking too squished up the trigger looks odd as well.)

Hope to hear some more great comments coming in, and I hope this subject might help some other newbies also.

Cheers.

the sig is not squished! you take that back! hahaha just kidding, but i think the model of the sig you were looking at is the p228 or p229, i dont' think the p226 looks squished at all, bearing that in mind, the m92's a decent gun no doubt, but the hop on that thing isn't adjustable, just one thing to note
