New Guy and keen as!

KIA ORANA!

The names Raiden (pronounced RYE-DIN). Warbound is my PS3 clan for COD and I am of Cook Island descent. LOL!

My interest in Airsoft started 2 years ago at the Auckland Armageddon Expo. There was an airsoft stall and they had some guns on display. I tried out the deagle and the scar and I was hooked!!!! So over the 2 years I have been looking around trying out guns and what not and have decided what guns i'd like tah get.

Firstly though, I need a club to go to and would love tah talk airsoft with like minded indviduals! Can someone lead me in the right direction? I know there's one in Leithfield but that's waaaay too far for me. Macleans Island is the next best bet!

I also run an rc drift club called RC Ryderz NZ here in Christchurch so if ya keen tah check us out, com on down for a jam or visit us at https://www.facebook.com/rcryderz

Hey Raiden.

You're welcome to come out and have a game with us on Sunday if you're keen. We play every Sunday from 9-2/3. You can hire some of the club gear for $20, which includes all the ammo you will need for the day.

If you want to work your game time around church, it would be way better if you could come by in the morning.

See you on the field.

Re: New Guy and keen as!

Okay, so for my guns (ecstatic much) i've decided to go for... wait a minute...

a G&G raider xl-dst or SRC M4 SR4-E Dragon
both m4's I think. I dunno aye.... I love the quad rail thing. Just looks mint as!

Also, do you guys carry secondarys??? If so, i'm going for a Deagle only cos I got a big hand and it fits well and feels comfortable. I tried a glock and a sig, but they're small. I like the sig tho.

Thoughts????

Desert Eagles are pretty neat, and they are definitely big, but there's always the problem of an easily usable holster.

If you're particularly fond of the Desert Eagle go nuts! But a few other guns have that larger profile also, namely the FN 5-7 and the XDM (which has interchangeable grip sizes). For pistols especially, I would recommend Tokyo Marui.

Shot bro!

Yeah i've been to go to this brand and another and another and sometimes it's hard to know what to get cos often at times, most people make decisions based on user experience instead of what they actually feel they want. But you know what, you right. I have been tossing up between Marui and KWC cos they say it's more to the dimensions of the real one. lol!

But I don't care, cos they both do the same thing - SHOOT! hahahaha!

Thanks man! I'm definitely getting a deagle! Now.... black???? or silver??? HAHA!!!

Bro EDA...

Just had a look at that XDM - me likey! Almost looks like a Glock copy!!!! Will look into this cos the prob I have with the deagle is the inability to release the mag. My thumb can't get to it unless I slide my hand off the grip. lol!

Re: New Guy and keen as!

I'm really liking this one too!

http://www.evike.com/product_info.php?cPath=21_217_619&products_id=38296&fb_action_ids=4371594040476&fb_action_types=og.likes&fb_ref=.UKmhWChDHYk.like&fb_source=aggregation&fb_aggregation_id=246965925417366

but it says it's full auto. I was told by some Gun City folk and on aux website that importing a full auto gun into nz is illegal. Do any of you guys use them or is strictly semi???? and can someone in TAG maybe order guns for us cheaper????

SHOT GUYS!

Re: New Guy and keen as!

I know what you mean with brands eh, everyone has their opinion and quotes it as truth most of the time! The one exception I think you'll find a consensus on is that Marui make the best pistols. You say that they all "shoot", which is true. But "shoot" is, I suppose, subjective for an airsofter. Reliability is another important factor. The thing you'll find with Marui pistols is that it's very likely you'll never have to upgrade or fix them.

I know what you mean with the Desert Eagle release. My first spring gun was a DE and it's definitely not the most ergonomic weapon!

Almost all AEG's are fully auto. The acronym actually refers to Automatic Electric Gun, with a few exceptions: eg PSG-1. New Zealand law currently dictates that any firearms (including airsoft) must be semi-auto. Most websites now offer the option to convert the gun to semi for shipping to NZ. Also, most have removed the charge for this recently.

To buy a weapon there are a few sites that I would personally reccomend in the following order:

But MOST IMPORTANTLY, the best idea is always to come to a few games and talk to people who already own something you're looking it, or something similar. Better waiting, than to end up with a pile of junk :P

Re: New Guy and keen as!

PM me before you buy any airsoft guns. A club member has had one seized by customs recently so I think it would be best if we had a bit of a dialogue before you buy anything. Just to make sure you do it right is all. It's pretty simple really.

Ya this. Hundreds of dollars down the customs drain is no fun for anyone.
